Break out the Rye Bread indeed!
So you are not a sports fanatic? Maybe you are just the occasional fair whether fan? One thing is for sure, Cactus League Spring training in Phoenix Arizona will have you painting your face in no time!
When I think about what it would cost me to take a trip across the county and see FOURTEEN different MLB Teams play, well I barely have enough money to buy a hot dog these days, much less a cross country sports trip.
With this in mind, I embark on Phoenix Arizona for a few short days and check into the Crowne Plaza Phoenix where my friends and I booked the CP Sports Getaway.
Crowne Plaza Phoenix (http://www.cpphoenix.com/) is perfectly located a hop, skip and a jump away from all 11 Cactus League Spring Training complexes. This quick and easy access has transformed my friends and I into baseball aficionados. We have secured tickets to see the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Korea and Japan ( in town for exhibition games) the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland A's, Anaheim Angels, San Diego Giants, Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals for about $17.00 a ticket.
Look, I am from Seattle and I paid taxes on that Stadium for a long time. Its beautiful, In fact its AWESOME. But for $17.00 you can park, for about an hour. There is no way you are getting inside to see a game for $17.00. For what I paid for all my tickets combined, I could maybe have gotten a seat in the outfield, maybe.
In fact I am seeing so many games, that I have started talking smack to anyone who will listen. Suddenly when I knew nothing except what baseball player was dating what movie star, I am talking stats. I just told the bellman that the Giants look good this season and my room attendant that the Padres could go all the way. I am like…..well I am like Sports Center. I am the coolest person I know when it comes to baseball. I digress......
The point is that I am here in beautiful warm Phoenix Arizona for four days. I paid $129.00 RT on a flight with Southwest Airlines. I paid around $350.00 total for my room for four days, split between my fabulous friends and myself. It cost $119.00 total for 1 ticket to 7 games of front row baseball. Most importantly when my husband says in his sarcastic tone “hey honey how was shopping and getting your nails done with the girls….?” I can say "oh that was ok, but I have to tell you, Manny may have worn his welcome out in Boston, but I think he will be pretty good for LA………!"
Come to Phoenix Arizona for Cactus League Spring Training and stay at Crowne Plaza Phoenix. Become your own baseball aficionado. http://www.cpphoenix.com/
